10DLC – 10 Digit Long Codes
In order to be able to not have your sent messages rejected by CTIA (Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association) MNOs (Mobile Network Operators – Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, etc.) they need to be registered and approved by TCR (The Campaign Registry, a third party specified by the CTIA) and approved by the DCAs (Direct Connect Aggregator, third parties which provide the connections to the MNOs). Please see the CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practice Guide specifically section 5 “Non-Consumer (A2P) Best Practices” section for further details.
Timeline expectation – The TCR registration (less than 1 day), TCR approval (less than 1 day), DCA vetting (5 – 10 days), and provisioning process (0 – 2 days) typically takes 10 business days or longer. Any rejection causes this timeline to start over. Most rejections occur in the the DCA vetting process, where the DCAs verify the information provided from this form in regards to call-to-action, privacy policy, and terms and conditions. In order to avoid rejections, please pay attention to the details of this form, and ensure your website or other supporting documentation contains the information and language as suggested from our experiences with this process.
Beginning March 31, 2023, text messages from 10DLC phone numbers not registered and approved may be blocked by the receiving carrier networks, and message delivery will be considered “Best Effort” unless registered and approved.
**UPDATE: As of Feb 4, 2025 T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T are rejecting text messages sent from phone numbers that are not registered.
